WHAT IS A CRAWLER CRANE?
A crawler crane has a unique design that allows them to maintain optimum mobility and stability when in operation. The upper carriage is mounted on an undercarriage that has a set of tracks called crawlers that allow it to function without outriggers. It has an upper deck and other features that can rotate 360°. Other parts of a crawler crane include the boom, car body, jib, and hoist.
Compared to others, crawler cranes are quite small which makes them a top choice for smaller jobs that require movement. Since their creation in 1911, they have typically been used for large assemblies, building construction or other heavy lifting work.
